We have to do better

What happens to children in our schools can make the difference between a life of low-paying jobs, incarceration, poor health and early death or living the life that I have been blessed to lead.

You see, every day, many of us wake up in the lap of luxury only because - as I know is true for me - we have had a path paved for us by ancestors and mentors and teachers who struggled and fought to give us a better life.

I shouldn't be here today. But I am. And it's just part of the reason why I am so passionate about the work that I do, and why I need warriors like you to join me.
